Traveling to Pompeii

08/13/23 - Traveling to Pompeii

On our way to Pompei - 8 hours travel from Northern Italy to the South.

We drove from Ovada to Malpenza airport in an hour and thirty minutes thru the farmlands and then boarded an express train from the airport car rental drop to the Milan Central Rail Station.

Milano Centrale is one of the world's largest railway stations. It fills the equivalent of nine city blocks. The ceilings are very high with windows in the top of the ceiling to keep the place cool from the busy traffic as people and trains are constantly coming in and out.

Busy Milano Centrale.

I find that traveling around Europe is very easy with Trainline. There are digital train tickets kiosks or counters to help book your trips in a very efficient way.

Efficiency includes a bullet express train to Naopli which reached 300 KM/h or 180 miles per hour. It stopped at several larger cities including Bologna, Florence, And Rome.

The thrill of 300Km/h overwhelms our fellow travelers.

We arrived to Napoli and took a second, local, train to get us to Pompeii. The trip was very pleasant, in a very old train without air conditioning, but with many windows that allow the fresh air to keep everyone cool in the late afternoon heat. Southern Italy is much warmer at this time of year.

And here we are in Pompei!! Arrived here with no problems. Traveling has been succesfull as of today!!
